Born in Munich, Verena studied stage and costume design as well as acting at the Academy of  Music and Performing Arts (Mozarteum) in Salzburg, Austria, before taking additional private instruction under the aegis of actress Maria Becker. Engagements in Munich, Frankfurt, Essen, Zurich, Augsburg and Salzburg followed with free-lance film work in Canada (1996-99), membership at the Actor’s Working Academy in Vancouver and her first film roles.

Verena moved on to work in recitations (audio books and literature programs) and stage scenery for, among others, Ibsen’s “The Ghosts“ in Zurich, Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale“ in Munich, Lortzing’s “Der Wildschütz“ in Munich and M. Santanelli’s “Regina Madre“ in Frankfurt.

Her directing debut came in 2002 with “The Merry Wives of Windsor“ by Otto Nicolai at the International Music Festival in Chiemgau (Germany). Subsequent productions were: C.
